Product Details
Beta1-spectrin
Spectrin beta chain, erythrocytic, Beta1 spectrin, or Membrane Cytoskeletal Protein is encoded by the gene SPTB and is a member of the member of the spectrin gene family. Beta1 spectrin is primary member of the cytoskeletal network in the erythrocyte plasma membrane. Beta1 spectrin is involved in cell membrane organization and stability and associates with the proteins band 4.1 and actin to form the cytoskeletal superstructure of the erythrocyte plasma membrane. Diseases associated with this gene include Spherocytosis and Elliptocytosis.
