Store at 4°C in the dark. Under these conditions, the antibodies should have a shelf life of at least twelve months, provided they remain sterile. For longer term storage, aliquot and freeze to avoid freeze-thaw of the antibody.
Liquid
Chickens were immunized with a synthetic peptide containing the human c-myc epitope (i.e., EQKLISEEDL) conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). After repeated injections, immune eggs were collected, the IgY fractions were purified from the yolks, and then affinity purified using a peptide column. The concentration of the eluate was then adjusted to 100 µg/mL, and the preparation was filter-sterilized.
Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) (pH 7.2), sodium azide (0.02%, w/v) as an anti-microbial agent.
WB: 1:500-1:1000
IHC: 1:100-1:250
ICC: 1:100-1:250
Antibodies were analyzed using ELISA and Western Blots using an N-terminal C-MYC-tagged protein. Secondary antibodies used in these quality control assays were alkaline phosphatase- (1:1000 dilution) and HRP-labeled (1:3000 dilution) goat anti-chicken IgY antibodies (Aves Labs), respectively.
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.
