Product Details
Cavbeta2 Ca2+ channel
Voltage-dependent L-type calcium channel subunit beta-2 or Cav ß2 is encoded by the gene CACNB2. Cavß2 is a cytoplasmic subunit of L type voltage-sensitive calcium channels. These channels facilitate entry of calcium ions into excitable cells are involved in a variety of calcium dependent processes, including neurotransmitter release, muscle contraction, and gene expression. Cav ß2 is expressed heart and brain, and lung. Mutations in this gene are associated with Brugada syndrome.
