Product Details

Cavbeta4 Ca2+ channel
Voltage-dependent L-type calcium channel subunit beta-4 or Cav ß4 is encoded by the gene CACNB4. Cavß4 is a cytoplasmic subunit of voltage-sensitive calcium channels. These channels facilitate entry of calcium ions into excitable cells are involved in a variety of calcium dependent processes, including neurotransmitter release, muscle contraction, and gene expression. Cav ß4 is expressed predominantly in the brain (cerebellum) and kidney. Diseases associated with this gene include Episodic Ataxia, Type 5 and Epilepsy.
