Product Details
Maltose binding protein (MBP)
Maltose/maltodextrin-binding periplasmic protein is encoded by the gene MALE. MALE is a member of the bacterial solute-binding protein 1 family. MALE is part of the transporter complex MalEFGK involved in maltose/maltodextrin import. MALE binds maltose and higher maltodextrins such as maltotriose. MALE is expressed in E. coli when induced by maltose and the transcriptional regulator MalT.
