Thioredoxin
Thioredoxin 1 is encoded by the gene TRX. Thioredoxin is involved in many redox reactions in the cell and serves to reduce oxidized cysteine residues and cleave disulfide bonds. Diseases associated with TXN include Post-Cardiac Arrest Syndrome and Breast Mucinous Carcinoma.
