Anti-Calretinin (L122/6) Recombinant Chicken Chimeric mAb (L122/6)
Our chicken Anti-Calretinin recombinant monoclonal antibody is a chimeric antibody derived from NeuroMab clone L122/6. It detects human, mouse, and rat Calretinin, and is purified by affinity chromatography. It is great for use in ICC, IHC, WB.

Representative section of formalin fixed, paraffin-embedded rat brain cerebral cortex showing staining cells by anti-Calretinin antibody. The sections were stained with Aves Labs anti-Calretinin recombinant chicken monoclonal antibody (visualized in green, Cat No. 78-488) at 1:100 dilution. The stained sections were mounted with Antibodies Incorporated FluoroshieldTM with DAPI and DABCO mounting medium (Cat No. AR-6505). DAPI nuclear stain (blue) shows cell nuclei. Magnification 400X.

Product Details
Calretinin
Calretinin is a calcium-binding protein involved in calcium signaling. It is abundantly expressed throughout the central nervous system, retina and many other tissues. Studies have shown that calretinin may play a role in neuroprotection by buffering intracellular calcium (Lukas and Jones 1994, Weisenhorn et al., 1996). Additionally, calretinin selectively stains mesothelial cells thus making it an important marker for differentiating malignant mesothelioma from carcinomas (Attanoos et al., 2000).

Liquid
This recombinant antibody is a chimeric antibody created by replacing the mouse heavy and light constant regions of our NeuroMab clone L122/6 with chicken IgY heavy and light constant regions. As such this antibody retains the same binding performance as the original clone L122/6 but can be detected using standard anti-chicken secondary antibodies allowing flexibility for multiplexing applications. This antibody is expressed recombinantly in mammalian cells and then affinity purified from the cell culture media.
1X PBS, 0.05% Sodium Azide pH 7.4

Each new lot of antibody is quality control tested by Western blot on rat whole brain lysate and confirmed to stain the expected molecular weight band.
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.
